BCBSAZ will discontinue certain COVID-19 emergency measures May 31

The steady decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations over the past two months and rapid progress of the Arizona vaccination campaign give us reasons to hope. While Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona (BCBSAZ) is continuing to monitor the situation and keeping all emergency measures in place at this time, we plan to discontinue many of the waivers and adjustments as of May 31.

This applies only to waivers that we have voluntarily implemented. Other waivers mandated by CMS, the Federal Employee Program® (FEP®), or federal and Arizona state executive orders are still scheduled to extend through the duration of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

See changes below in red.
